Universal Robots

The robots and controllers from Universal Robots (UR) are comparatively light and compact. They are suitable for various applications and are prepared for collaborative operation. The UR robots are available as UR3, UR5, UR10, UR16 (new since 2019), with payloads of 3kg, 5kg, 10kg and 16kg. Since 2018 three further models, the so-called “e-Series”, each of which has an additional force-moment sensor installed in the robot.

Drag&bot supports the CB and E-Series controllers.

Universal Robots is the world leading company in collaborative robotics. It was founded in 2005 and revolutionized the robot market with light and flexible robot arms, called “cobots”. Covering a large variety of applications, the arms are used in most of the industries. Consequently, thousands of cobots from Universal Robots are in operation around the world.

Robot Example UR5:

The UR5 is as lightweight cobot for medium-duty applications that require high flexibility. With its playload of 5kg and reach of 850 mm, it is designed for an easy integration into a wide range of applications. From machine assembly and packaging to polishing or painting work, the cobot executes repetitious and ergonomically difficult tasks that people find tiresome.

  • SCENARIO DESIGNER – 3D models of the robot cell and the workpieces can be added here to the visualization.

  • BUILDER – Applications can be created from predefined function blocks using drag and drop.

  • WIZARDS – Graphical operating and input aids: Users can adapt function blocks to the specific requirements of their application without expert knowledge.

  • OPERATOR COCKPIT – This is where the created applications are executed. One click takes you back to the builder and you can extend and optimize the application.
