ABB robot

ABB offers various six-axis robots with payloads from 3 to 800 kg. The robots are powered by the IRC5 controller, which offers excellent performance and maximum path accuracy. Drag&bot supports all ABB robots with the IRC5 controller. Detailed Requirements for using ABB with drag&bot:

The IRC5 controller is available for all new ABB robots and offers many expansion options.

Communication with other machines in production takes place via a secure connection, and the IRC5 also supports all common fieldbuses for I/O communication. Sensor interfaces, remote access and socket messaging are just a few examples.

The IRC5 provides standard access to ABB Ability Connected Services. These enable fast error analysis and monitoring of the robot condition throughout its entire lifecycle.

The “PC Interface” software package [616-1] enables you to

  • Manual robot backup on a network PC (included in RobotStudioOnline)
  • OPC server interface for SCADA integration (supplied with RobotWare DVD)
  • Communication interface for use with ABB Industrial Software Products; WebWare and “PC-SDK”.
  • RAPID Message Queue

The Multitasking 623-1 software package enables:

  • Run up to 20 programs (tasks) including the main program in parallel
  • Control peripheral devices or other processes simultaneously with the robot movement

Robot Example RB 1200: 

The IRB 1200 meets industry requirements for flexibility, short cycle times and compactness while offering a large working range. Available in two versions, the IRB 1200 is versatile and cost-efficient. Both versions are equipped with Foundry Plus 2 or cleanroom protection, as well as SafeMove and Food Grade Lubrication (lubrication with food-grade oils). The 700-mm version can handle up to 7 kg, while the 900-mm version has a payload of 5 kg.
